VAN BUREN TWP. — An Indianapolis motorcycle rider was not seriously injured when he crashed on State Road 135 South in Brown County Sept. 9.

Police and EMS were called to State Road 135 South near Reed Hollow Road at 11:38 a.m. on reports from passers-by of a vehicle over an embankment.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Jackson reported that the rider, Brian P. Spink, 43, was “shook up, but OK.” He told police he was riding east when his motorcycle got off the right side of the road slightly, which pulled him into a ditch.

Spink rolled down the ditch a few feet, and the bike slid and hit a sign before rolling over in the ditch, the police report said.

Spink had a small cut above his nose and was medically cleared by EMS. The motorcycle had cosmetic damage, but Spink was able to ride it home, the report said.

He was wearing a helmet.
