Police pulled over a Brown County man after seeing him cross the center line and ended up issuing a summons for drug possession.

Nashville Police Officer Michael Williams stopped Shawn Minnich, 40, of State Road 135 North, near the Brown County State Park entrance on 46 West April 25.

Minnich told Williams he did not have a valid driver’s license and that the vehicle belonged to a relative. He said he was driving it to a repair shop to be worked on, the probable cause affidavit states.

Williams reported smelling marijuana in the vehicle, and when asked if there was anything illegal in it, Minnich handed him a green pipe with a burnt substance inside, the affidavit states.

During a vehicle search, Williams reported finding a grinder with marijuana inside and an Altoids tin containing about two grams of raw marijuana.

Minnich was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He was also cited for driving while suspended. On July 25 he was charged with two drug-related misdemeanors.
