Letters: Foundation thanks all for dinner help

To the editor:

The Brown County Community Foundation (BCCF) coordinated another successful Giving Dinner on a beautiful summer evening Tuesday, July 18. The Giving Dinner was hosted by Bronzini Pizzeria and Seward Party Rentals.

We want to thank Ryan Seward and his staff for setting up the wonderful long dining table and chairs under the trees and for the delicious dinner.

We thank the Chocolate Moose for the selection of cold desserts.

We thank Good Nature Farm and Daugherty Landscape Service for all of the beautiful flower arrangements; Hoosier Buddy for helping with our cocktail hour; and Buck Valley Septic for their accommodations.

The Giving Dinner was held in the serene Blue Door Park located behind CVS and we thank Lucinda David and Robert Vernon for offering to share their property for this event. The spacious and manicured park grounds were a perfect setting for the gathering. Guest lingered and visited under the many shade trees and were entertained by Alyssa and Matt Stanley as well as by the 4-H Dog Club’s dog ability demonstration.

The concept behind the Giving Dinners is simple and effective. The events are organized by the BCCF and the host, scheduled at an interesting venue and intended to support a local charity. The host of each dinner gets to pick the charity. Ryan wanted to support the Brown County Humane Society. Guest lists are developed collaboratively by the host, the charity of choice and the BCCF.

Guests are invited to enjoy a leisurely cocktail hour and mingle, enjoy dinner and dessert, learn about the mission of the charity and are invited to support the organization. One half of all donations goes toward the charity’s endowment at the BCCF and the other half is a direct donation to the charity.

These events would not happen without the support of many volunteers and we thank these generous folks for making the evening so relaxing and comfortable.
