BELMONT — An Ohio man was injured when he swerved to miss a deer near Bambi Lane Aug. 1.

Douglas Olsen, 52, told police that a deer ran across State Road 46 West, he swerved and went off the road and down an embankment. Then he struck a tree.

He was taken to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital by ambulance for a fracture or dislocation to his abdomen or pelvis area, a police report states.

Police gathered a blood draw from Olsen; results are still pending, according to the report.
