PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Police in Rhode Island say a man has been charged with committing six robberies in less than two weeks and is a suspect in several more.

Police say the suspect was arrested Wednesday at a Providence apartment after an armed robbery at a pharmacy earlier in the day. He is charged in connection with other gas station and convenience store robberies dating back to July 30.

Police say he is also a suspect in three other robberies in Providence, and Cranston police are investigating if he is connected to a robbery there.
