MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. — Authorities say a man and a woman have been found dead by police responding to reports of shots fired at an apartment complex.

But they won’t say how the two people died or if the deaths are connected, saying only that the “isolated incident” didn’t pose a threat to the community.

A 28-year-old woman was found dead early Saturday outside The Highlands complex in Morris Plains. The body of a 32-year-old man was found nearby at a site in Morris Township.

Morris County prosecutors say the cause and manner of death for both people remain under investigation. Their names have not been released.
