MABTON, Wash. — Multiple fire agencies were battling a brush fire in central Washington.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports ( http://bit.ly/2uPEDGG ) that the blaze about 10 miles south of Mabton was estimated at between 8 and 10 square miles.

Yakima County Fire District No. 5, the Bureau of Land Management, Mabton and Yakama Nation firefighters were among those fighting the fire, which began Sunday evening.
