TUCSON, Ariz. — A Tucson police officer has been arrested in connection with an off-duty domestic violence incident involving a weapon.
Police officials announced Monday that Michael Sauber has been placed on imposed leave with pay.
They say Sauber is a probationary employee with a hiring date of April 2016.
Police say the department began both criminal and administrative investigations into Sauber’s conduct in the incident that allegedly occurred Friday.
They say Sauber was taken into custody on suspicion of domestic violence/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.
He was booked into the Pima County Jail on Sunday.
Police say their investigation is ongoing and they didn’t release any details of the alleged incident.
It’s unclear if Sauber has a lawyer yet for his case.
