PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Officials say a Rhode Island man died of injuries from a blaze that destroyed a YMCA storage shed earlier this year.

State Department of Health spokesman Joseph Wendelken tells WPRI-TV (http://bit.ly/2vaIC0o ) the medical examiner’s office ruled last month that 48-year-old Kyle Andrews, who worked for the organization, died of “thermal burns” on April 20 due to the fire.

Authorities say the fire started in the early morning hours of April 17 at the MacColl YMCA maintenance shed that housed lawnmowers and other gardening equipment in Lincoln. No one was found at the scene. The cause is still under investigation.

Detectives located Andrews at his home to interview him about the fire, saw that he was injured and sent him to the hospital. He later died.
