Letters: YMCA celebrates reaching capital campaign goal

To the editor:

When generous donors like ours think of our YMCA, you know it’s more than just a gym; it’s a cause. The Y is an organization that, thanks to the community’s support, continues to strengthen the community in which we live.

On behalf of the Brown County Community YMCA and the many people who benefit from our life-changing programs and services, thank you, Brown County, for getting us to our goal of $250,000 for our 2016 Capital Campaign.

Know that your gift will enable young people to achieve their potential, empower people of all ages to lead healthier lives, strengthen the bonds of community, and so much more.

No other organization can impact as many people as powerfully as the Y does every day. Together, we are taking on many of the greatest challenges facing our youth, our health and our region. We are making a difference, thanks to committed and continued supporters like you.

Thank you, Brown County, and beyond for sharing your treasure with the Y! It took 142 donors for the Y Board of Directors to meet our goal. We received donations from as far away as Pennsylvania and Florida, and from as little as 25 cents from some local students to $30,000 from Smithville Charitable Foundation.

With gratitude,

Kim Robinson, executive director, Brown County YMCA
