Woman in parking lot arrested on drug charges

Two people who were reported to be passed out in a vehicle at CVS had drugs in the car, police say.

Officers and EMS were dispatched to the parking lot May 31 on a report of two possibly unconscious people in a green car. Both were alert, talking and smoking cigarettes when Nashville Police Officer Keith Lawson arrived, he wrote in a report.

The woman, Christina Bell, 41, of Ellettsville, gave officers consent to search her vehicle and the bags and coolers inside. Lawson and NPD investigator Brian Lucas reported finding a bag of cotton balls and multiple uncapped syringes.

Officers ended up stopping the search for safety reasons after going through several bags and finding so many uncapped syringes, the report said.

Officers found nothing on the passenger and he said he knew nothing about what was in the vehicle, so he was released.

Bell was taken to the Brown County jail. She was charged June 1 with unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony.
