ST. GEORGE, S.C. — A man has been found shot to death on a South Carolina city street.

Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies told local media outlets that someone called police around 5:30 a.m. Monday to report a body on a street.

Sheriff’s deputies say they found the body of 32-year-old Christopher Joseph Simmons of St. George.

Maj. Tony Phinney said are trying to determine what happened. The death is being investigated as a homicide.

No arrests have been made.

Coroner Paul Brouthers said Simmons’ body has been taken to the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital for an autopsy.
