A crash on State Road 46 East injured one driver and a 14-year-old.

Randi M. Lane, 27, of Columbus, told police that around 3 p.m. June 6, a white truck in front of her stopped suddenly and went to the right to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of it. She tried to stop, but her Xterra struck the rear of the truck.

The truck was driven by Joshua Philpot, 33, of Oxford, Ohio. He told police he was eastbound and saw a vehicle a couple cars up with its turn signal on to go left. He said he didn’t come to a complete stop before Lane hit him.

A witness said the vehicle had its turn signal on long before it actually turned. The crash happened behind him.

Lane refused treatment for a possible chest injury. Her 14-year-old passenger was treated at the scene for chest pain, the report said.

Philpot also was treated at the scene for head pain.

All were wearing seat belts.
