COLUMBIA, Mo. — A man from Columbia, Missouri, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the 2015 murder of two men.

The Columbia Missourian ( ) reports that 26-year-old Darious Lucas was found guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the deaths of James Richardson and Kenneth Long. In addition to the life sentence, Lucas was also sentenced Monday to 50 years for each count of armed criminal action.

Lyrics Lucas wrote in a journal while in jail detailed the kind of ammunition used to kill Richardson and Long, who were discovered by road workers. The lyrics also mentioned shooting someone in the back, which police say is how Long died.

A phone message left by The Associated Press seeking comment from Public Defender David Wallis wasn’t immediately returned.
