Drunken driving arrest made downtown

A woman whom police say was driving left of center with a child in the car was arrested on several drunken driving charges in downtown Nashville.

Rachel R. King, 32, of Bloomington, was stopped at 5:19 p.m. May 26 on South Van Buren Street.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht’s report said she was driving left of center and had “parked very crooked.” She also showed signs of intoxication smelled of alcohol, the report said.

A breath test showed her blood-alcohol content to be 0.289, more than three times the legal limit.

She was charged June 6 with operating while intoxicated — endangering a person with a passenger less than 18, a Level 6 felony; and four other alcohol-related misdemeanors. One of the misdemeanors was elevated to a felony because she had previously been convicted of drunken driving with endangerment less than five years ago in Monroe County.
