HELMSBURG — A driver who was seriously injured in a crash on Railroad Road May 22 has been charged with two felony counts of drunken driving.

Jeffrey M. Long, 39, of Indianapolis, crashed his Hyundai into a utility pole in the 5600 block of Railroad Road just after 11 a.m. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance, where his blood was drawn. That sample showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.226, more than three times the legal limit for a driver, a police report said.

He was charged with two Level 6 felonies on June 6, because he had been been convicted of the same offenses in Marion County less than five years ago. He also was charged with possession of paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
