IRVINE, Calif. — Police in Southern California say they have arrested a suspect recorded by security cameras grabbing a shopkeeper by her hair in an attempted kidnapping.

Footage shows the man walking up behind the manager of an Irvine clothing store, gripping her hair and trying to drag her away.

Investigators say the suspect ran away Saturday when the struggling woman told him he was being recorded.

KCBS-TV reports (http://cbsloc.al/2swqIV3 ) 47-year-old Charlie Choi was arrested Monday on suspicion of attempted kidnapping. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.
