Road and bridge work will continue this week and next around Brown County and in downtown Nashville.

SALT CREEK CLOSURE

The Brown County Highway Department will close a section of Salt Creek Road on Monday, June 12 for approximately three days in order to repair a section of road that has settled and displaced the pavement.

The closure will happen at 3524 Salt Creek Road, about 1.5 miles south of Gatesville Road and 5.5 miles north of State Road 46.

No traffic will be allowed through during the repairs.

Alternate local traffic routes will be on Clay Lick Road and Hoover Road.

This work needs to be done before the entirety of Salt Creek Road is repaved in a week or two. Sweetwater Trail also will be repaved, all the way to the Johnson County line, Brown County Highway Superintendent Mike Magner said. Work on those two roads is being funded with the $1 million Community Crossings grant from the state.
