Letters: Homemakers helping 4-H kids get to camp

To the editor:

The Brown County Extension Homemakers are once again having our annual garage sale June 23-24.

The proceeds are going to help our youth take educational trips and attend 4-H camp. We feel strongly that every child should have the chance to attend 4-H camp. These camps and trips offer our youth a safe environment to learn and build lasting friendships. Every adult 4-H’er has a story to tell of their youthful adventures. We want to pass that onto the next generation with your help.

We invite the community to participate by donating gently used items, getting a $20 booth to sell their own stuff, or simply coming and buying all the stuff.

This is a great opportunity for those who live in hard-to-find areas to have a successful garage sale. We have the space in the Brown County Fairgrounds exhibit building, so rain or shine, you are protected.

If your garage sale has a few leftovers, please consider donating them to this good cause.

Booth rental forms are available at the extension office and inquiries can be made there too! Call 812-988-5495.
