Bicyclist injured in hit-and-run

A Greensburg bicycle rider was hit by a truck on State Road 46 East Sunday night and the driver left the scene, police say.

The crash occurred near Old State Road 46 at around 9:25 p.m. May 28, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner.

Rider William C. McClain, 68, told police that he landed by hitting the guardrail on the south side of State Road 46 East. He said the vehicle that hit him continued east without stopping.

McClain complained of pain throughout his body and was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

McClain told the officer that the vehicle that hit him was a pickup truck with wide tow mirrors, possibly white or grey.

Anyone with information on the incident can call the sheriff’s department at 812-988-6655.
