A Morgan County man faces a felony in Brown County after police said he was driving after being suspended for life.

Brown County Deputy Austin Schonfeld went to a property about a lawnmower that had not been returned to its owner. While checking the records of John C. Brackett, 57, who was questioned two days earlier about the mower theft, Schonfeld discovered he was a habitual traffic violator for life, the police report said.

Brackett also had a warrant out of Marion County for battery, the report said.

He was charged May 9 with operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, a Level 6 felony.
