A 17-year-old driver was injured after her Jeep struck two other vehicles on State Road 46 East March 31.

At around 11:15 a.m., police and emergency personnel responded to the three-vehicle accident near Hoover Road.

Courtny N. Corder, 17, of Nineveh, told police she was stopped with a turning signal on, waiting to turn left onto Hoover Road when she looked in her rearview mirror to make sure traffic was slowing down behind her black Chevrolet Malibu. She said she saw a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee start to swerve around her vehicle, an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner states.

The Jeep’s driver, Hannah D. Fletcher, 17, also of Nineveh, attempted to maneuver around Corder’s stopped vehicle, but struck a 2014 Toyota Sienna driven by Karen M. Timby, 39, Brownsburg, in the rear. Timby was stopped behind Corder’s vehicle as she attempted to turn, the accident report states.

Timby’s vehicle then hit Corder’s vehicle in the rear. After hitting Timby’s vehicle, Fletcher’s vehicle then struck Corder’s vehicle on the passenger side.

The impact caused Timby’s vehicle to spin around and stop facing west in the westbound lane. Corder and Fletcher’s vehicles both were stopped on the eastbound shoulder facing east, according to the accident report.

Fletcher was taken by ambulance to a hospital for neck, back and leg pain from the accident.

No other injuries were reported.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
