A Greencastle man was injured March 30 after he told police he looked down for a second while driving and ran off State Road 46 West.

Robert G. Freeland, 61, was driving west in the 1900 block of State Road 46 West when he took his eyes off the road and lost control, an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Pittman states.

Freeland was treated by EMS for lacerations with minor bleeding on his hands, arm and head. He was then taken to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital for further treatment.

Pittman reported that it appeared Freeland went off the road, then got back onto the road before overcorrecting and going back off the north side.

Freeland’s 2011 Ford F650 Super Duty was towed. A nearby yard and culvert also were damaged.
