A Trafalgar man was arrested for driving while intoxicated Feb. 25 after police reported him speeding and crossing the center line near the sheriff’s department.

Ryan S. Peters, 38, was stopped at 11:42 p.m. by Sgt. Bill Southerland. Southerland reported smelling alcohol on Peters, that his eyes were red/watery and his balance was unsteady.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.12, more than the legal limit of 0.08, the report said.

Peters was charged with three alcohol-related misdemeanors Feb. 27.
