Letter: Many thanks to participants in annual spelling bee

To the editor:

The Psi Iota Xi philanthropic sorority would like to thank everyone involved in their fourth annual Komedy Spelling Bea. We had 22 people from our community who prepared and served their chili in our cook-off, over a dozen people who willingly walked on stage to potentially humiliate themselves in our spelling bee and merchants from Columbus to Bloomington who donated items for our silent auction.

We would also like to thank Brown County High School for allowing us to use the only space big enough to facilitate this large of an event.

Special thanks to the committee responsible for planning this event: Erika Bryenton, Jill Wray, Sherry Brown, Tammy Hawkins, Christy Callon, Keisha Lipscomb, Judy Wincel-Smith and Stephanie Dean.

Psi Iota Xi is a women’s philanthropic organization with chapters throughout the Midwestern U.S. supporting speech and hearing, art, music and literature.

For more information, or if you would like to join, you can check out our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/PsiIotaXiBrownCounty.

Thanks for coming and we hope to see you all next year!
