Police say a Nashville teen fell asleep at the wheel early in the morning March 6 after working all night, resulting in two separate collisions.

According to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Pittman, Adrian P. Bennitt, 18, was driving west on State Road 46 West near Town Hill Road when he crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Michael Kern, 53, Bedford, head-on.

Kern told Pittman he did not have time to react to Bennitt crossing the center line. Pittman reported “massive” front-end damage to both vehicles; both were towed.

Christine E. Brugger, 26, was traveling east on 46 West when she had to stop abruptly due to the accident between Bennitt and Kern. David M. Roos, 26, Rockport was “following closely” behind Brugger and was unable to stop on the wet pavement, Pittman reported.

Roos struck Brugger’s vehicle in the rear passenger side.

All drivers were checked out by EMS and denied further treatment. Everyone was wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

Brugger and Roos were able to drive their vehicles from the scene.
