Robert J. Trankle, 94, of Franklin, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 2017, at Franklin United Methodist Community.

He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth (Keith) Mardis of Springfield, Missouri, Janet (William) Phillips of Mitchell and Nancy (William) Kirklin of Franklin; five grandchildren, including some in Brown County; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, George (Della) Trankle of Rapid City, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne. They will be inurned together with military rites at Fort Meade National Cemetery in South Dakota. Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown handled cremation services.
