Felony charges filed against Martinsville man

A Martinsville man was charged with two felony alcohol offenses last week after he was stopped by police in Brown County last spring.

Joshua C. Warren, 36, was stopped by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht on State Road 45 last April. Eggebrecht reported that Warren smelled of alcohol, his speech was slurred, eyes bloodshot and balance unsteady, the report said.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.105. Warren refused a chemical test, and at the time of the report, those results were still pending.

On Feb. 17, Warren was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more, a Class C misdemeanor. Both counts were elevated to Level 6 felonies because Warren was convicted of drunken driving in 2014 in Morgan County.
