Rebecca HowardRebecca Johnloz Howard, 77, of Bloomington, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, in Autumn Hills Health Care, Bloomington.

She was born Nov. 6, 1939, in Bluffton, to Remington Allen Johnston II and Betty Plessinger Johnston. She had been an elementary school teacher and later enjoyed motherhood, community service and involvement.

Survivors include her children, David (Mandy) K. Johnloz II of Nashville, Jennifer (Jim) Johnloz Price of Bloomington, and Christopher (Jana) A. Johnloz of Prague, Czechoslovakia; stepchildren, Bill (Lynn) Howard of Nashville, and Luke (Linnie) Howard of Fayetteville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Ryan Price, Allison Price, Wylie Poling, Landon Johnloz, Andrew Johnloz, Bill Howard and Bailey (Sarah) Howard; a great-grandchild, Ailey; and a brother, Remington A. Johnston III of Ft. Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Doctor David K. Johnloz; her second husband, Doctor William Howard; and a stepson, Andy Howard.

Memberships included Tri Kappa, Kappa Alpha Theta, President of the Monroe County YMCA Board, Meals on Wheels, Monroe County Medical Alliance, and she was involved with the start-up of the Brown County YMCA. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, being an avid fan and supporter of I.U. sports, traveling, her life in Brown County and the sunsets in Boca Grande, Florida, with her Boca buddies. Her travels took her to Easter Island and she was able to hike and raft the Grand Canyon twice. She will be missed by many, as she loved being with people.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in Nashville Christian Church, 160 S. Van Buren St., with Pastor Patrick Glasser officiating.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, and one hour prior to service Feb. 17 in the church.

Private burial will be at a later date.
