A truck and trailer accident on State Road 46 East Jan. 27 caused a traffic backup early in the morning.

At around 6 a.m., Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of State Road 46 East for an overturned truck with trailer in the driveway of a nearby residence.

Lt. Mike Moore reported a large number of wooden pallets and a trailer blocking the westbound lane. The road was closed for approximately two hours while the crash was cleared.

The driver, Thomas L. Harden, 54, Nashville, told police he lost control of the vehicle on the bridge.

Harden said he crossed the highway, went into the westbound lane and hit the guardrail on the north side of the road before the truck and trailer rolled over.

A passenger in the vehicle received a minor head injury and was treated by EMS at the scene. He refused transport to the hospital.

Harden was not injured, according to Moore’s accident report.

The truck and trailer were both towed from the scene.
