JACKSON, Miss. — A Mississippi police chase has ended with three people dead and two injured.
Jackson Police Cmdr. Tyree Jones says a Chevrolet pickup truck was fleeing Hinds County sheriff’s deputies when the driver slammed into a Pontiac sedan just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart tells The Clarion-Ledger two women and a man were killed in the Pontiac. She’s withholding names until family members are notified.
The truck’s driver and a passenger were taken to a Jackson hospital, but Jones says their injuries aren’t life-threatening.
Jones says the truck’s driver evaded a roadblock being run by sheriff’s deputies. A sheriff’s dispatcher says Friday that no one is available to comment.
Police will interview the truck’s driver, Jones says, and then decide if they will bring criminal charges.
