GREECE, N.Y. — New York authorities say a woman is dead and five other people have been injured after two vehicles collided on a suburban Rochester road.

Police in the town of Greece say the crash occurred Thursday night on Long Pond Road, just west of the Rochester city limits. Officers say a car crossed the center line and collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction.

Police say a woman riding in the front seat of the first car, 18-year-old Bryssa Polatas of Hilton, died at the scene.

Three people in her vehicle and two in the other car were taken to hospitals. Police say a 19-year-old man is in guarded condition. The other four suffered injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
