WILLISTON, N.D. — Bond is set at $500,000 for a North Dakota man accused of transmitting the HIV virus to a woman who didn’t know he carried the virus that causes AIDS.

Williams County prosecutor Whit Skinner said in court Thursday additional charges would be filed against Angel Miguel Rodriguez. The 41-year-old defendant is charged with a felony, since North Dakota is one of many states that have statutes criminalizing potential HIV exposure.

The Williston Herald (http://bit.ly/2jEgI6e ) says a 54-year-old woman told investigators she had unprotected sex with Rodriguez and that she tested positive for HIV in October. She says Rodriguez never told her he had the virus. Investigators say they expect at least one additional accuser to come forward.
