FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Authorities say a bullet was fired through the window of a northern Virginia day care center while several children were inside.

Fairfax County police say the shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Bright Horizons day care center in Falls Church. There were eight 3-year-old children and two adults inside the facility at the time, but no one was injured.

Police spokesman Don Gotthardt says investigators are trying to determine if there was an intended victim in the shooting, and are canvassing the neighborhood for more information.
