Harriett D. Zike, 100, of Nashville, went to meet her Lord and Savior Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016.

She was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Tower, to Jesse and Katherine (Tower) Dean. Harriett was a graduate of Leavenworth High School with the class of 1933. She was a homemaker and worked in personnel at Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 17 years, retiring in 1982. Harriett was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Indianapolis and was also a member of New Life Community Church in Nashville. She was a very modern woman who loved to play the organ, paint and make jewelry. She loved spending time with her family and was very involved in her family’s activities. Harriett was very loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She married Carl M. Zike on Nov. 17, 1940; he preceded her in death May 24, 2000.

Harriett is survived by her son, Tom (Stacy) Zike of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Jayne (Michael) Nichols of Nashville and Vivian (Bill) Morton of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Chasen (Megan) and Ryan Zike, both of Dallas, Texas, Robby Clevenger of Nashville, Mark (Kimberly) Clevenger of Avon, Joe (Tracy) Clevenger of Nineveh, Magan Morton and Kimberly (Tim) Pollock, both of St. Augustine, Florida; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Shannon Zike; brothers, Lloyd and Jennings Dean; and sister, Faye Boldt.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at New Life Community Church, 1450 State Rd 135 North, with Pastor Timothy Conboy officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Burial will take place at a later date in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
