Police say a vehicle that was following too closely caused an accident that injured two people on State Road 135 North near Orchard Hill Road Nov. 14.

Lt. Mike Moore with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department reported that there were no skid marks from the vehicle that Tluang N. Thang, 54, Indianapolis, was driving when he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Darrell A. Shaw, 56, Indianapolis.

Moore reported that Thang’s vehicle had heavy front-end damage.

Thang told Moore he was following Shaw’s vehicle on 135 North when it stopped suddenly and did not use a turn signal or brake lights.

Shaw reported he was southbound on 135 North when he turned his signal on to turn left into a driveway in the 2100 block, the accident report said.

Moore checked the brake lights and turn signals on Shaw’s vehicle and reported they were working.

Moore reported that a sun glare may have caused Thang not to see the signal or brake lights.

He said in the report that Thang was following too closely for him to be able to avoid the crash.

Both vehicles were towed.

Shaw was taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of back pain. A passenger in Thang’s vehicle was also transported for chest pain.
