Motorcycle rider crashes, goes over dam

CORDRY LAKE — An Indianapolis man was taken to a hospital with back pain after he crashed a motorcycle on the Cordy Lake Dam and went over the side.

A police report says that on Nov. 6 just after 2 p.m., Dustin S. New, 24, was driving west on Cordry Drive and didn’t make it through the curve.

Two witnesses, one at the dock and another across the lake, told police that the motorcycle struck the guardrail and New was ejected from the bike, flew over the guardrail and landed down the dam at the edge of the tree line. When New tried to get up, he fell and slid down into the tree line, the report says.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Taggart determined the crash was a result of aggressive driving. The motorcycle was towed.
