Man charged for not reporting to jail

A Martinsville man has been charged with three felonies after he failed to arrive at the Brown County jail on three different occasions to serve his sentence.

Curtis L. Ellis, 53, was sentenced April 29 to 120 days in the Brown County Jail for being found in indirect contempt in a juvenile paternity case. The time was to be served on consecutive weekends beginning May 6, a probable cause affidavit states.

Ellis failed to show up to serve time on July 8, Aug. 12 and Sept. 2, according to Jail Commander Tony Sciscoe.

He was charged with three counts of failure to return to lawful detention, Level 6 felonies.
