The day before runners took off in the Brown County YMCA Hilly Half Marathon in the Brown County State Park, local kids had their own chance to show off their running skills.

Kids in grades pre-k to sixth grade lined up at the beginning of the Salt Creek Trail at the YMCA to run races varying in lengths from a half-kilometer to a 2K.

Ronald McDonald and Allison Watter were there to help the kids get warmed up before the races.

The Fun Kids Run was a fundraiser for the YMCA and was presented by Nashville McDonald’s. Kids received apples, water and a medal when they finished.
