Letter: Goshen Church’s annual bazaar date approaching

To the editor:

Once again, it’s autumn in Brown County and time for holiday bazaars. Goshen Church will be hosting our 10th annual holiday bazaar, bean dinner, bake sale and quilt raffle on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is our only fundraiser of the year. You’ll be surprised by the newly renovated interior of our little country church.

Many handcrafted items from different mediums including crochet and patchwork as well as greeting cards and jams and jellies will be available at the bazaar, as well as bake sale items such as homemade pies, cookies and breads.

The bean dinner includes a bowl of ham and bean soup, cornbread, salad, drink and dessert for a $5 donation. Carry-out will be available.

My sister Margi Underwood pieced and hand-quilted this year’s raffle quilt. “Everlasting Love” is a blue-and-white queen-sized quilt. Margi persevered on this quilt even through a job loss and a death in the family.

Quilt raffle tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5 and will be available at the bazaar or earlier by calling 812-988-7892. The drawing for the quilt will be at 3 p.m. Nov. 12 and you don’t need to be present to win.

Goshen Church is three miles east of Bean Blossom at 2798 Gatesville Road. Watch for signs.

See you there!
