Dorothy Jean Smith, 83, of Nashville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 03, 2016, at Brown County Health and Living Community.

She was born Oct. 07, 1933 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Ralph and Edna (Gambill) Futrell. Dorothy was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Dorothy leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Ronald C. Smith; daughter, Shirley Smith of Bloomington; son, Russ (Abigail) Smith of Nashville; her sister, Eunice Hickman of Jonesboro Arkansas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; a brother; and her son, Robert Smith.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Paul Hardin was to be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North in Nashville.

Burial was to follow in Brown County Memorial Park.

The family was to receive visitors one hour prior to service Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Dorothy be made to National Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org; American Cancer Society at cancer.org; or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th St., Columbus, IN 47201.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville.
