VAN BUREN TWP. — Two men were injured Oct. 31 on Ogala Horse Camp Road after a deer ran out in front of their vehicle.

Jimmy L. Fowler, 22, Lebanon, told Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Stargell that he had just left his campsite on Ogala Horse Camp Road when a deer ran out in front of him and he had to jerk the steering wheel. The vehicle slid on the gravel and hit a tree head-on, Stargell’s report said.

Fowler complained of ankle pain from a previously broken ankle that was still in a cast, as well as shoulder pain.

His passenger, Justin A. Ryon, 18, Franklin, had face pain from the airbag, the report said. Both refused treatment from emergency medical workers.

Fowler and Ryon were both wearing seat belts. The vehicle was towed.
