An accident on State Road 46 East Oct. 29 injured a motorcycle driver and his passenger.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Williams reported he was getting into his police vehicle at the Circle K gas station on State Road 46 East at about 6 p.m. when he heard a loud scraping sound and saw a motorcycle driver and passenger rolling on the highway asphalt.

June M. Dixon, 42, Paoli, told Williams she was facing east waiting to turn into the gas station when she heard something hit her vehicle. She got out and saw that a motorcycle had hit her vehicle on the passenger side.

The motorcycle driver, Bradley E. Weaver, 38, Westport, told Williams he remembered hitting his brakes hard, but he wasn’t sure why, the accident report said.

Williams determined from the scrapes on the road that the motorcycle went down and spun around while it was going past Dixon as she was waiting to turn, hitting her vehicle on the passenger side.

Weaver and his passenger were taken to a hospital by ambulance. Weaver complained of back pain. The condition of his passenger was not listed on the report.

Dixon was unhurt, the report said.
