VAN BUREN TWP. — Two people were ejected from a motorcycle on State Road 135 South Oct. 16, resulting in the closure the road for about 30 minutes.

The accident occurred just north of Horseman Camp Road. Marvin K. McAllister, 64, Martinsville, was riding a motorcycle northbound with Christian D. Walker, 49, Martinsville, when it left the road, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Edens Magner.

The motorcycle was found near the white line in the southbound lane. The officer reported McAllister appeared to be impaired; he observed a lack of balance and slurred speech, the report said.

McAllister’s blood-alcohol content measured 0.034, under the legal limit for a driver, the report said. Magner noted that McAllister’s condition did not appear to be the primary cause of the accident, but it was a factor.

Both McAllister and Walker had minor bleeding on their arms. It was unknown if they were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, the report said

Both were taken to the hospital by ambulance and the motorcycle was towed.
