The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning to do more work on State Road 135 North in and near Brown County starting as early as next spring.

Firm dates on when projects will start and end have not been announced. It’s possible that vegetation clearing around the work sites will begin this year, INDOT reported in a press release. The work sites will be:

BROWN COUNTY:

  • The 1930s double-arch bridge over Little Bean Blossom Creek 1.71 miles north of State Road 45. It will require closure of State Road 135 for up to 75 days.
  • The 1930s concrete arch bridge over Moser Branch 1.57 miles north of State Road 45 near Railroad Road. It will require closure of State Road 135 for up to 60 days.

MORGAN COUNTY:

  • The 1930s concrete arch bridge over Bear Creek 1.26 miles south of State Road 252. It will require closure of State Road 135 for up to 45 days.
  • A new drainage structure to channel a branch of Bear Creek south of Morgantown at Farm Road. It will require closure of State Road 135 for up to 30 days. To maintain residential access, Farm Road’s junction with State Road 135 will be relocated just south of the culvert site.
