red-rose-wallpaperDonna Jean (Simmons) Neal, 78, Morgantown, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Brown County Health & Living with family members at her side.

She was born Nov. 20, 1937 in Princeton, West Virginia to the late Joseph Levi Simmons, Sr. and Arcie Alord (Day) Simmons Wilson.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a Christian homemaker. In addition to a missionary trip to Guatemala, Donna was involved in various ministries of the Church of God in Anderson. She loved music and was involved in the music ministries of churches she attended throughout the years in West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana.

Surviving are her children, Teresa Lowhorn, Beverly Lee, Cynthia McKinney, John Neal, David Neal and Daniel Neal; 10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Frankie Calvin Neal; daughter, Angel Love Neal; siblings, Rheo Simmons, Joe L. Simmons, Georgia Simmons, Bob Simmons, Benny Simmons, Bertha Burton, Dorothy Garrett and Sheila Shorter.

A service celebrating her life will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at First Church of God, 1396 E. Columbus St. in Martinsville.

Visitation was to be at Costin Funeral Chapel, 539 E. Washington St. in Martinsville, from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, and at the church from 9 a.m. until the service Tuesday, Oct. 24.
