CANDIA, N.H. — Police say a New Hampshire woman with a handgun surrendered to a SWAT team several hours after she refused to leave her home and her 12-year-old daughter escaped.
Police were dispatched to the Candia home Tuesday. They heard a gunshot go off while the daughter was inside. Police started talking to the woman via cellphone.
A second shot went off when the girl left. Shortly afterward, the woman, identified as 45-year-old Deborah Deslongchamps, came to the door with a gun. A trooper told her to drop the gun and leave. She dropped the gun but went back inside. She eventually left.
Deslongchamps was charged with reckless conduct, false imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child. She’s being held without bail. It wasn’t immediately known if she has a lawyer.
