CLAYTON, Mo. — A park in St. Louis County will soon be named in honor of a police officer killed in the line of duty.

St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger says Clydesdale Park will be renamed to honor county officer Blake Snyder, who was fatally shot by a suspect Oct. 6. Snyder’s funeral was last week.

Stenger will enact the name change with an executive order that does not require approval of the county council. He was planning to sign the order Tuesday evening.
