NEEDMORE — A Needmore man was injured after his vehicle left Plum Creek Road and hit a tree head-on Sept. 19.

Thomas Cochrane III, 51, was driving near Rainbow Lane on Plum Creek Road, according to an accident report from Brown County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Southerland.

Cochrane’s truck left the right side of the road and struck a mailbox in the 4600 block before striking a tree head-on.

Cochrane was unable to explain what happened due to his injuries. Southerland reported it appeared Cochrane did not attempt to slow or stop before striking the tree. There were no skid marks on the gravel or along the road, the officer said.

Cochrane was taken to a hospital by ambulance for a chest injury. His truck was towed. He was not wearing a seat belt.
