An Indianapolis man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and drug possession Oct. 1 after he was pulled over for not having a working license plate light.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht stopped Larry D. Gill, 41, in the 2300 block of Greasy Creek Road at around 1 a.m.

Eggebrecht reported smelling alcohol on Gill, that his speech was slow, his eyes were bloodshot and his balance was unsteady, according to a probable cause affidavit.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.098, the report said.

When Gill stepped away from his vehicle, a glass pipe fell to the pavement, the affidavit said. Eggebrecht also reported finding 5 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.

Gill was charged Oct. 3 with two OWI counts and two drug possession counts, all misdemeanors.
